Bali’s Ancient – Penglipuran Village

Bendesa or Kelian or Penyarikan are community leader in this village with Sinoman as an assistant. The social system is recognized by the 12 group as member of Pemerincik. This group has the duty to discuss problems or plan activities and the results are delivered to members. They really trust 12 groups as represent the tradition. This rural Consanguinity system is a Patrilinial system that matches the father’s lineage. This countryside religion leader is called as Jero Bayan, consist of 3 Jero Bayans namely Jero Bayan Mucuk and 2 Jero Bayan Nyoman.
