General Information
Goa Raja Waterfall is located in Jehem Village, Tembuku District, Bangli Regency, around 20 kilometers from Ubud and approximately 60 kilometers from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Nestled in a lush tropical valley, the waterfall is surrounded by dense greenery, volcanic rock formations, and the calming sounds of nature. As a result, it offers a refreshing escape from Bali’s busier tourist destinations.
The name “Goa Raja,” meaning “King’s Cave,” comes from the natural cave hidden behind the waterfall. According to local stories, the cave was once used for meditation because of its peaceful, secluded atmosphere. Today, it remains one of the waterfall’s most distinctive features.
The waterfall is open daily, and visitors pay a small entrance fee that helps support maintenance and the local community. In addition, basic facilities such as a parking area, toilets, and changing rooms are available near the entrance for added convenience.
Before reaching the waterfall, visitors follow a scenic 10–20 minute walking trail through the forest. Along the way, you’ll cross small bridges, walk down stone steps, and enjoy beautiful tropical scenery. Although the trail includes several stairs, it is well maintained and suitable for most visitors.
For the best experience, visit during the dry season (April to October) when the trail is easier to explore. However, the waterfall is equally beautiful after light rainfall, as the stronger water flow creates an even more dramatic view.
