Frequently Asked Questions About East Java Packages
Most packages include private air-conditioned transport, fuel, professional local driver-guides, 4×4 Jeep rentals for Mount Bromo, entrance tickets, and ferry tickets if transferring to Bali. Multi-day holiday packages also include handpicked hotel accommodation and daily breakfast.
Our packages offer flexible pickup and drop-off locations. You can start your journey in Surabaya (Juanda International Airport / Railway Stations), Malang, or Banyuwangi. We also offer seamless overland transfers that drop you off directly at your hotel in Bali.
The dry season from April to October is the best time to visit East Java. During these months, skies are clear for volcanic sunrises, trails are dry for trekking, and the weather is ideal for viewing the Ijen Blue Flame and Bromo Milky Way.
Temperatures near Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater can drop to 5°C–10°C early in the morning. We recommend bringing a warm jacket, beanie, gloves, comfortable walking/trekking shoes, a headlamp, and a gas mask (provided for Ijen Crater sulfur fumes).
Mount Bromo is very accessible and safe for children and beginners using 4×4 Jeeps and paved staircases to the rim. However, the Ijen Blue Flame trek requires an active 2-hour uphill hike at midnight, which is recommended for beginners with reasonable fitness and older children.
