A Famous Karangasem Bali Heritage Site – Tirta Gangga Water Park
Tirta Gangga Water Park is a beautiful traditional water park with a huge of water fountain and wide pond located at Abang Sub-district, Karangasem Regency in the east part of Bali. It is one of the Karangasem Empire heritage set secluded between the green hills, and rice paddy and surrounded by a fresh atmosphere. Furthermore, Tirta Gangga Water Park is built in 1948 by the Karangasem King of Anak Agung Agung Angluerah Ketut Karangasem. Previously, there is a big wellspring in this area and the local people believe that the waters are the holy spring. Therefore, they call this place Embukan means wellspring. They also believe that this wellspring as a pool for the god and also as drinking water resource. Moreover, the local people have sacrificed it and kept the park naturally. Afterwards, the King of Karangasem restore this park to be good looking and now becomes a famous tourist destination.
A Magical Wellspring of Tirta Gangga Water Park
Tirta Gangga Water Park is also featured by the wide public pool with cool and clean water. Furthermore, it is a public place where everyone can swim. The location on the foot of Abang Hill with cool temperature surrounds it. The lush tropical gardens are well surrounding the park and beautiful big fish pond featuring this site. Meanwhile, some buildings and other decorations are intentionally made as according to the spirit from Puri Agung Karangasem (Agung Karangasem Palace), so it can be said that between Tirta Gangga and Sukasada Park (Taman Sukasada) is a union. Both of parks are the heritage sites and opened for public. Therefore, the visitors can entry and enjoy the park in the day time from 7 am until 6 pm. You may go for swimming in the fresh swimming pool therefore we recommend you to bring the changing clothes when visiting this site.
